I have the honour to transmit for your information the enclosed copy of letter from Sir John Carrington.

2. I approve of the suggestion of the Chief Justice in the 5th paragraph of his letter that the 2nd Volume and the Index of the new Edition of the Ordinances of the Colony should be printed under contract in England and I also recommend that the sum of $2,770.88 should be paid to Messrs. Noronha and Company to cover their expenditure in printing the first Volume (off the Chronological Table) and in binding the completed Volumes.
